Day 5 - We Cheated

Today's recap is going to be short and sweet. We cheated. But for a good reason.

Yesterday, my two oldest kids, one in 4th and one in 1st, got their first semester report cards sent home. Both earned all A's! So to celebrate, we took them out to dinner at a new restaurant.

While it was fun to celebrate them, we are committed to our no-spend January for the remainder of the month. My first grader did try a fried mushroom because "this is the month of trying new things". I was super proud of him bringing our theme to our dinner out even if he only ate the fried breading part of the fungus.

So, look for the culinary adventure to continue tomorrow!
